Agreement on Pandemics
The Intergovernmental Negotiating Body is composed of representatives of WHO member states, with the mission of “drafting and negotiating a convention, agreement or other international instrument of WHO to strengthen pandemic prevention, preparedness and response”.
Created by the World Health Assembly (WHO’s highest deliberative body) in December 2021, it is coordinated by representatives from six states, one of which is Brazil (representing the Americas region), as well as South Africa, Egypt, the Netherlands, Japan, and Thailand.
