A Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) criou uma Comissão da Sociedade Civil, a fim de fortalecer o diálogo, promover a colaboração e fornecer recomendações para apoiar a OMS em seu envolvimento com a sociedade civil nos níveis global, regional e nacional. O intuito é alcançar a saúde para todos e os objetivos do Programa Geral de Trabalho da OMS, bem como acelerar a implementação dos ODS relacionados com a saúde.
A primeira reunião do Comitê Diretivo da Comissão, composto por 22 entidades sociais (ver lista colada abaixo), ocorreu em 24 de agosto em Genebra.
